Abi & Peter | A Beautiful Nant Gwrtheyrn Wedding in North Wales
Last Saturday brought us to the beautiful Nant Gwrtheyrn to celebrate Abi and Peter’s wedding. Tucked beneath the mountains of the Llŷn Peninsula, this coastal setting was a lovely place for family and friends to come together for their special day.
While I work through their full wedding gallery, here is a small selection of photographs to share a first glimpse of the celebrations.
Abi & Peter’s Wedding at Nant Gwrtheyrn
With its stone cottages, mountain backdrop and views across the sea, Nant Gwrtheyrn has a character all of its own. Throughout Abi and Peter’s day, the emphasis was on capturing moments as they happened: the anticipation before the ceremony, the smiles between guests and the excitement of those first moments as a married couple.
Their ceremony at Capel Salem brought everyone together for the heart of the celebrations. Watching Abi arrive and capturing Peter’s reaction was a particularly lovely part of the day. Afterwards, guests gathered outside for confetti, congratulations and a chance to enjoy the drinks reception before the family photographs.
A Little Time Together by the Coast
One of my favourite parts of photographing weddings at Nant Gwrtheyrn is taking couples away for a few quiet moments in the surrounding landscape.
For Abi and Peter, their portraits were an opportunity to pause, enjoy each other’s company and take in the setting. With the mountains and coastline close by, there was plenty of inspiration without needing to make the photographs feel overly posed.
My approach is to offer a little direction where it helps, then leave room for natural expressions and interaction. Those small, unplanned moments often become some of the most meaningful photographs from a wedding day.
Celebrating into the Evening
Back at the venue, the celebrations continued with the wedding breakfast and speeches, followed by an evening spent with family and friends. From the quieter moments together to the energy of the evening celebrations, there was so much to capture.
It was a pleasure to photograph Abi and Peter’s wedding and to tell the story of their day in such a beautiful corner of North Wales.
