The Real Magic Happens Before the Runway
Last Friday, May 1st, I had the incredible privilege of taking my camera into the heart of London Fashion Day Season 7. Hosted at the iconic St. John's Church in Hyde Park, the venue provided a breathtaking architectural contrast to the cutting-edge, contemporary style on display.
While the runway is where the final, polished vision is celebrated, my favorite place to be is where the real magic -and the rawest energy - happens: backstage.
I spent the day weaving through the behind-the-scenes chaos, documenting the intense focus and creativity that takes place just moments before the lights go up. There is a distinct, electric pulse in the prep areas. Watching the incredibly talented stylists, makeup artists, models, and designers collaborating to perfect every last detail is an art form in itself, and it demands a fast, instinctive editorial eye to capture properly.
Documenting the Next Generation of Fashion
London Fashion Day is renowned for supporting independent labels and elevating emerging creative voices, and Season 7 absolutely delivered.
It was a thrill to document the grit and glamour of the new wave of designers shaping the future of fashion. From the fresh, innovative concepts presented during the London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) Showcase to the bold, unapologetic aesthetics of designers like Brera Milano, Atelier Pardis, and Gorsset, the day was packed with unforgettable characters and striking silhouettes.
From the Pit to Your Feed
For my commercial clients and future brides, this is exactly the kind of fast-paced, high-pressure environment that hones my editorial edge. Whether I am capturing the nervous anticipation of a model seconds before they walk, or the quiet, intimate moments of your bridal preparation, the goal remains exactly the same: to document the authentic emotion with magazine-quality precision.
Because there was simply too much incredible content to fit into one post, I will be dropping an exclusive, extended look at my backstage shots over on my social media.
