A Return to Historic Grandeur
Last Sunday, I had the absolute pleasure of exhibiting at the Bangor University Wedding Fayre. It is always an honour to attend as a recommended wedding photographer for such a prestigious and visually spectacular venue, right here in the heart of North Wales.
I want to extend a massive thank you to the brilliant weddings team at Bangor University. Their hospitality toward the suppliers and the newly engaged couples who attended was second to none, making the entire day a resounding success.
Architectural Drama: A Cinematic Canvas
For an editorial photographer, Bangor University is a dream location. The venue is steeped in history and boasts a scale and grandeur that is hard to match. Walking through the venue, you are immediately struck by the architectural details that make it such a phenomenal canvas for high-fashion, "Vogue-style" bridal portraiture.
The Council Chamber, with its breathtaking, sweeping historical mural, rich dark-wood paneling, and magnificent arched ceilings, provides an awe-inspiring and deeply atmospheric setting for a wedding ceremony. It possesses a moody, cinematic quality that translates beautifully through the lens.
For the reception, the legendary Pritchard-Jones (PJ) Hall offers unapologetic grandeur. Framed by towering mullioned windows that flood the room with natural light, and anchored by a majestic grand organ, the hall is a spectacular space. Whether it is styled with towering, elegant white blossom trees or warmly lit with festoon lighting and structural branch centerpieces for the evening, the sheer scale of the room ensures your wedding breakfast feels like a royal celebration.
Looking Ahead
It was wonderful to meet so many couples on Sunday and hear about your plans. Whether you are envisioning a classic, opulent aesthetic or a modern twist on historic elegance, Bangor University provides the perfect backdrop.
I am incredibly excited to return to the university later this year to capture our booked couples. If you attended the fayre and are looking for a photographer who can do justice to the magnificent scale of Bangor University while ensuring you look effortless and stylish, my diary is open. Let’s create something iconic.
