Claire & Dewi: A Relaxed Mid August Wedding at Tyn y Cornel, Tal-y-llyn
There are wedding venues, and then there are places that feel like they were made for the day. Tyn y Cornel is firmly the latter, and it was a joy to be there for Claire and Dewi's mid August wedding.
The hotel sits on the banks of Tal-y-llyn Lake, known in Welsh as Llyn Mwyngil, a glacial ribbon lake tucked at the foot of Cadair Idris in southern Eryri, near Tywyn in Gwynedd. It is one of those settings where the water mirrors the mountains and the whole valley seems to slow down, which is exactly the mood Claire and Dewi were after.
Theirs was a beautifully relaxed celebration, with the ceremony held at Tyn y Cornel itself before the day unfolded at an easy, happy pace. That kind of atmosphere is a gift for a photographer, because it lets the real moments breathe rather than feeling staged.
At a quiet point in the day we borrowed the couple for a short while and escaped up into the foothills of Cadair Idris to capture a few Signature Portraits. With the lake below and the mountain rising behind, the landscape did most of the work, and Claire and Dewi did the rest.
Congratulations to you both. It was a privilege to tell the story of your day in one of the most striking corners of Wales.
